Three Great Dental Insurance Plans
Dental insurance is probably one of the most requested insurance products today. There are many people who are looking for a cost effective plan for themselves and family. Not all dental plans are the same and each have their strong points. Below are three dental plans that we sell and they are available in most states.
These three plans are what we call “Stand Alone” dental plans. This simply means that you can apply for one of these plans by itself and not be required to have any other product. You can simply apply for the dental plan regardless of other insurance products you may already have. These plans are also available on a month to month basis and do not require any long-term contracts. You can cancel the plan at any time should you feel it is not meeting your needs.
The three plans highlighted below are from Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Assurant Health, and Humana. The Anthem plans are available only in states where the Anthem brand exist and states like Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia. Assurant Health and Humana are available in almost all states with few exceptions. So take a look at these plans and see if they meet the needs of you and your family.
The first dental plan to highlight is the Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Dental Blue Dental Plans. Dental Blue is basically the same plan in most Anthem states but it does vary slightly in some states. Anthem believes that regular checkups can help detect early warning signs of certain health related issues. Anthem has worked hard to make their plans affordable and in addition the huge discounts they have negotiated on the behalf of their members makes Dental Blue one of the top-selling plans we carry.
Dental Blue Plan Highlights:
- No waiting period for checkups
- Includes cleanings, exams, X-rays at 100%
- $1,000 to $1,250 annual benefits depending on state
- Freedom to go outside the PPO network if necessary
- Largest network of providers in each of the Anthem states
- Easy Online Enrollment Application
Assurant Health offers Dental Coverage in most states throughout the U.S. Assurant Health offers three dental plans to choose from to best meet the needs of you and your family. The dental plans from Assurant Health are affordable and easy to apply for. And now you can apply for any one of the Assurant Health Dental Plans as a Stand Alone product or you can add it to your existing or new Major Medical Policy.
Some of the things that are important to point out about the Assurant Health Dental plans is that in addition to being available as a “Stand Alone” plan these dental plans do not require you to use any network for your dental care. This is very important especially if you live in state that have a more rural setting that may not have network access. With these dental plans you simply go to the dental provider of choice and then submit your claim directly to Assurant for CASH reimbursement. Assurant offers three plan options, the Basic, the Intermediate and the Plus.
Assurant Health Plan Highlights:
- No waiting period for checkups
- 100%, no deductible preventive care
- Get a set cash amount for each dental treatment such as a filling or a crown
- Pays 50% for Basic Services in first policy year then 100% of per service benefit
- Receive CASH benefits directly to you or allow your dentist to submit claim
- No networks to choose from
- $1,500 annual benefit – highest offered
HumanaOne Dental Preventive Plus
HumanaOne offers another option for your to consider, their Preventive Plus dental plan. HumanaOne’s Preventive Plus fits a segment of the market that wants to have a dental plan for their family but they enjoy overall good oral health. The Preventive Plus plan is a great option if this fits your families description. At almost half the price of the other two options above, Preventive Plus makes a lot of economic sense.
If you live in the metro areas where Humana’s networks are most prevalent then this is a very good option to consider. The strong point about this plan is that Humana passes all of the discounts they have negotiated in their networks on to you, their plan member. Their plan provides solid coverage for Preventive and Basic services only but you will still receive the discounted rates for all dental services. And these discounts equal real money saved.
So Preventive Plus is for those who want a dental plan that provides the two preventive visits per year and services for those basic needs such as fillings, extractions, emergency care pain relief and other basic benefits but do not have a need for procedures that would be considered Major such as crowns, implants, inlays and other procedures.
HumanaOne Plan Highlights:
- Low monthly cost
- 100% for Preventive Services, twice per year
- Basic Services paid at 50% of discounted rate
- No Co-payments for office visits
- $1,000 annual maximum per person per year
- No exclusions for pre-existing conditions
- Only 6 month waiting period for Basic Services
